The Rezina population is about 16 thousand people and consists of people living directly within the city - 13,800 people and the rest living in the villages that are part of the city. In the south of the city, about 4 km away, there are former cellars and prayer lodges dug in the limestone. They date back to 800-900 years. Consequently, the Saharna Monastery was founded near this site.
Of the total land 1,777 ha constitute the agricultural land or 46,2%. The whole area of Rezina, situated on the bank of the Dniester River, is very picturesque. Of particular interest are two natural reserves: Saharna (670 ha) and Ţipova (430 ha).
Legend's and stories says that in these places once stopped a family: mother, father, daughter and son. The villager called him Răzanu and daughter Elina "Until 2002 the surface of Rezina was 100.08 km2, but since 2003 it is 33.52 km2 due to the fact that some rural settlements that were part of the locality were transformed into separate town halls .
